Creamy sesame-tahini broth ramen with soy meat and raw vegetables

Tokyo Vegan Ramen Center is a 100% vegan restaurant in Harajuku, about a five-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae Station (Exit 5) and roughly seven minutes from Harajuku Station via Takeshita Street. The restaurant opened in this location in 2025, after its concept was first tested through pop-up events, including a stint at the Shibuya Parco rooftop and a stall at Harajuku Commune, before settling into a permanent shop.

The menu is vegetable-forward and built around Japanese formats: ramen, soba, donburi bowls, bento, small plates, and desserts. The signature dish is the miso ramen (¥3,480), made with Kyoto white miso and piled with a wide range of vegetable toppings — lettuce, cauliflower, shiitake mushroom, physalis (ground cherry), salted sweet potato, burdock, whole peppercorn, pumpkin, turnip, and edamame. A second signature is the umami shiitake soba (¥3,480), made with Tokyo-grown shiitake. A spicy tahini ramen (¥3,680) is also on the menu, along with gyoza, tempeh-based karaage, and vegan desserts and lattes. Diners who want to avoid wheat noodles can ask for a rice-noodle swap in the ramen, though the kitchen has not stated whether this is prepared separately from wheat-based dishes, so those with a serious gluten allergy should check directly with staff before ordering.

The interior seats around 19 people across counter and table seating, with a stone Buddha statue and greenery giving the room a calm, stylish feel; tables are large enough for groups, and there's counter seating for solo diners. The restaurant is non-smoking, offers free Wi-Fi and power outlets, provides an English-language menu, and lists allergy and calorie information — details aimed squarely at Harajuku's large share of international visitors alongside local diners. Because reported opening hours differ between sources, it's worth checking the restaurant's Tabelog listing or official channels for the current schedule before visiting.
